Sydney Australia is blessed with not only a beautiful harbour but numerous ocean surf beaches as well as smaller, calmer ones, great for a family day out. Maroubra Beach is one of the larger ones, but on patrolled days, surf life savers protect the swimming areas between the flags.
Divided into sections, the first being the Bondi to Coogee Beach Walk, where you pass Tamarama, Bronte and Clovelly till you reach Coogee. From there, you can head off to all the way to Malabar Beach. Not only that, but from there the walk is being extended to the Botany Bay beaches.
There are convenient places to sit, parks to rest and beaches to swim along the way.
On the beach at Bondi there is the Pavilion. This iconic building dates back to 1928. Now housing a theatre, gallery, art and music studios, it once featured Turkish baths and a grand ballroom dance floor.
The surf can get quite large at Bondi Beach on certain days. Great for surfers, it is important for swimmers to stay between the flags when the beach is patrolled by the Surf Life Savers.
There are signs posted at the beach concerned with water safety. Familiarise yourself with them before venturing out in the water. Safety first!
