Blue Mountains Places to Eat
When visiting the Blue Mountains, amongst the historical villages and towns along the way you can discover some very special places to eat, including restaurants, cafés and pubs. This makes a day out in the mountains, only some 1.5 hours drive from the city even more interesting for those wishing to explore Australia.

Basil Nut Asian Kitchen
Katoomba was one of the major resting points for travellers during the days of Cobb & Co., a coaching company that crossed the mountains in the 1800s. It now has the Basil Nut Asian Kitchen with rave reviews for their seafood curry and their salads.

Rooster Restaurant
Why put up with winter chills when you can enjoy a fabulous meal at the cozy Jamison House’ Rooster Restaurant? They also feature a very special degustation menu alongside their hearty dinner a la carte and breakfast menus. French regional style dishes, such as Coq au vin, paté and a true Bouillabaisse with snapper, clam, prawn and rouille. Tuesday nights they have live music with a special meal, this changes every week.

Lochiel House Restaurant
They do a great breakfast but also lunch and dinner. Their smallish main lunch and dinner manu keeps everything fresh and in season including fish. Their roased Lamb Rack is memorable, as is the crispy skin Duck Breast. Try to leave some room for dessert though, their Lemon & Pistachio Cake is delish!

Located in Blaxland, Montes is amongst the top ten places to eat in the Blue Mountains. With mouth-watering gourmet and traditional pizzas, as well as a good selection of freshly made pastas, you are sure to find something to delight your palate. They also cater for vegan and lactose free needs.

Lily’s Pad Café
This special place, situated in Leura takes care to make their dishes from fresh, in season local ingredients. They do an all day breakfast for those late risers, as well as lunch seven days a week. Their coffees are rich and tasty, their homemade cakes and in-house baked breads will one wanting for more. They also feature a take-away menu with dishes like home casseroles and quiches.

Crib Room Restaurant
Located in the Black Gold Motel, which itself is located in the historic old Wallarang School, dating back to 1881. The school is still in existence, but at a different location. At the Crib Room Restaurant they do breakfast and dinner and have a licensed bar. During dinner, they serve dishes such as Crumbed Barramundi, Pan Seared Chicken and Oven Roasted Salmon as well as more traditional favorites such as Crumbed Lamb Cutlets and Pot Pie.
