Great Australian Things to Do

Seeking Adventure? Seeking a well earned rest at a luxury resort? What about a culture exploration? So many things to do!

Visit the Sydney Opera House

One of the great Australian things to do if you have not already, is to pay a visit to the Sydney Opera House. This iconic building is world renowned, not only for its shape but its grand location.

Better yet, go there to attend an event. The building not only has opera, but also other world class entertainment, in its different halls there are classic piano recitals to popular music, theatre, dance, even screenings of family loved movies.

Situated on the edge of Sydney’s Harbour, there are wonderful views to be had, not only from its steps but from its interior and surrounds. This is where the nation of Australia began with the arrival of The First Fleet, so there is plenty to see and do in the Opera House surrounds. Just across the cove is The Rocks, the restored historical district where the convicts that had arrived were first forced to live.

Afterwards, why not join a cruise of Sydney Harbour. You will a number of them to choose from the docks at Circular Quay, just southwest of the SOH.

Experience Aboriginal Culture

A unique and hidden treasure of Australia to be explored is the ancient Aboriginal Culture of Australia. Experience indigenous music, dance and the storytelling of the Dreamtime (the creation of the world) at its best at many locations throughout the country.

Aboriginal painting and sculptures are well worth experiencing. There are ancient wall paintings at various sites around the country, some dating back to forty, maybe even fifty, thousands of years old.

Adventure

There is the common misconception that Australia is a dangerous place, with snakes, spiders, crocodiles and sharks just waiting to pounce. The country, of course is a large place, so the odds of you having a mishap with one of them is actually very remote.

In fact you would have to go out of your way to go and bother them, they are even more scared of you than you may be of them. Its only sharks who may not be scared of you, but they can be found in the oceans all over the world in the many other wonderful seaside vacation spots as well, not just here.

Here are some of the great Adventures of Australia:

The Great Barrier Reef

The largest living eco-system in the world, the Great Barrier Reef off the east coast of Queensland is one of the natural wonders of the world. Its gorgeous tropical and sub-tropical islands, multi-coloured reefs and even more multi-coloured fish attracts Australian and international visitors the year round.

Diving, swimming, snorkelling and boating are wonderful attractions to the Great Barrier Reef, but there are also a number of exclusive luxury resorts where one can experience Pacific Island luxury at a number of resorts:
