Popular in both summer and winter, the Snowy Mountains has a lot of appeal for experienced and novice skiers with a variety of activities - heaps of fun for the whole family.

In winter, besides skiing, snowboarding and sledding, you can take a snowshoe tour with experienced guides. Some of the roads in the mountains are closed during winter after snowfall, and you would be wise to get info at one of the NPWS information centres before venturing.

Throughout the rest of the year, there are great hiking experiences available throughout the Kosciuszko National Park. Take a breathtaking ride on the chairlift from Thredbo, explore Mount Kosciuszko, or fish in crystal clear mountain streams.

Tumut, Khancoban and Jindabyne

The National Parks and Wildlife Service have information centres at Tumut, Khancoban and Jindabyne.

The map shows the location of the Snowy Mountains region of NSW, as well as National Parks, towns and places of interest, including Perisher Village, Thredbo village, Mount Kosciuszko and the Selwyn snowfields.

Visit The Blue Mountains to see the Three Sisters and spectacular views as well as the very colourful birdlife.
