Bundaberg Places to Visit
Bundaberg, being in the centre of Queensland’s sugar cane belt, has delicious rums and a famed distillery. But there is plenty of activities for everyone in the family, such as sailing, yachting, lake and bay swimming and exploring the Barrier Reef.
Places to visit include Mon Repos Environmental Park, Cania Gorge NP, Agnes Water, beaches, rural hinterland and historical towns.
Great Sandy National Park
The World Heritage Listed Great Sandy National Park and Fraser Island feature multi-coloured sand cliffs, wildlife and bounteous birdlife.
Bundaberg itself is a thriving country town, Fraser Island, part of the Great Sandy National Park is just off the coast.
You can even hire a houseboat to explore the calm waters of the the west side of Fraser Island and the Great Sandy Strait.
Nearby towns, including Gladstone, Maryborough and Hervey Bay as well as Bundaberg have good choices in both accommodation and dining.
Nearby is the Fraser Coast, just south, with Gladstone and the Capricorn Coast to the north.
