Bundaberg itself is a thriving country town, Fraser Island, part of the Great Sandy National Park is just off the coast.
You can even hire a houseboat to explore the calm waters of the the west side of Fraser Island and the Great Sandy Strait.
Nearby towns, including Gladstone, Maryborough and Hervey Bay as well as Bundaberg have good choices in both accommodation and dining.
Places North and South
Also nearby is the Fraser Coast, just south, with Gladstone and the Capricorn Coast to the north.
