Mackay Coast Central Queensland
The beautiful town of Mackay enjoys great weather most of the year, particularly in winter (Jun-Aug). Surrounded by sugar cane fields and the Coral Sea, the town’s peaceful setting belies its busy nightlife, things to do and places to shop. Do try one or more of the many al-fresco restaurants when here, especially for the fresh seafood.
The nearby National Parks are stunning, particularly Eungella, over 125,000 acres of rugged mountain terrain, with spectacular waterfalls, abundant wildlife and deep gorges cut by streams into the volcanic rock.
