Inland, there is the Great Northern Highway, from Perth leading to Newman and Port Hedland.
Highway 1, still considered the grand Australian Tour Route around the coast of the country, will not only take you to the north of Australia but all the way around again via Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.
Monkey Mia and the Shark Bay World Heritage Area
This region of Western Australia has Monkey Mia and the Shark Bay World Heritage Area. There are dolphins at Monkey Mia and stromatolites at Shark Bay, the earliest known form of life found on earth. They were known to exist as far back as 2.4 billion years ago.

Kalbarri National Park
Kalbarri National Park offers beautiful beaches and stunning gorges. During Spring, the place blooms with wildflowers while the climate is idyllic. Kangaroos, Emus and Thorny Devils can be seen. Francois Peron National Park was originally a sheepstation for many years and is accessible by 4 Wheel Drive.
Geraldton is the commercial centre for the Gascoyne region and fishing is popular. Try the seafood here, its fresh and delicious.
