Far North WA
North Central Western Australia
Adventure awaits in the Far North of WA in the Kimberley. Regarded as the last frontier in Australia, with isolation from not only the world but much of Australia as well.
The few towns that are located in this vast region all have their attractions. Broome, originally known for its wonderful Pearls has developed into a tourist mecca for those seeking easy reach natural wonders and Australian wildlife but with all the comforts of a luxury resort lifestyle.
The many National Parks in this region, with their scenic landscapes and wildlife include Drysdale River National Park. Purnululu (Bungle Bungle) and the Devonian Reef National Parks.
Wyndham was the site where many thousands of people arrived for the lure of gold in the Halls Creek Goldfields. Located not far from here at Halls Creek is the Argyle Diamond Mine, not only the largest diamond mine in the world but one that produces the rare and desirable pink diamonds.
The rains, when they come in November to March, make the area bloom, while in the dry seasons, dry and arid. April to September are regarded as the best time to visit.
