Located near the Polkobin wineries, Singleton is a popular place for those visiting the region. In town are the Singleton Historic Society Museum and the Royal Australian Infantry Museum. At the Convent of the Sisters of Mercy, there is also the ’Sacred Spaces’ museum. Also in town is one of the world’s biggest sundials.
A number of historic buildings, dating back to the first half of the 19th Century, can be visited by taking the Town Walk. They include the Convent of Mercy, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and St Catherine’s College.
Nearby national parks to explore include the smaller Yengo National Park, Barrington NP and the great Wollemi NP.
Yengo National Park is a park of deep gorges and ridges, with wonderful views of the surrounding region. Aboriginal Heritage sites can be visited in the park, complete with rock engravings.

The nearby wineries are worth visiting, many have wine cellar doors, where you can purchase select wines. Some of these are only available here and nowhere else.
North over the Sydney Harbour Bridge, take the F3 Freeway to the Sydney - Newcastle Highway. At the end, take the the New England Freeway. Trains are available from Sydney Central, Strathfield and Hornsby via Countrylink (Phone 13 22 32) in NSW.
