Fishing on the Sapphire Coast

Touring Australia: Virtually surrounded by scenic National Parks, this part of the South Coast of NSW also has wonderful beaches, lakes and beautiful waterways that will leave one with lifelong memories.

Fishing

As the locals are proud to tell you, there are excellent fishing opportunities on this part of the South Coast. The Bermagui River only allows fishing for recreational anglers, while at many other spots such as Wallaga Lake, Wagonga Inlet, Tuross Lake and others offer both boating and onshore fishing. Night fishing is also very popular here.

The deep sea in this region also has great fishing, there are a number of charter fishing boats at Bermagui available with the latest advice and info for making a great trip. This part of the Sapphire Coast region is famed for its big game fishing.

Stop off at the Bermagui Bait and Tackle on the waterfront at 126 Lamont Street, Bermagui for all the latest regional fishing information. You can even try one of their delicous bacon and egg rolls made fresh for you before heading off on your expedition.

Tathra Bermagui Road

The Tathra Bermagui Road tourist route, of which the long wooden bridge is a part, has long nature walks, recreational areas, swimming, surfing and places for lingering picnics.

National Parks

Merimbula and Bermagui

Nearby the historic seaside towns of Merimbula and Bermagui provide the rest - great little restaurants to explore, clubs and pubs for a few drinks and entertainment. Golf, tennis and a whole range of watersports are available on the Sapphire Coast.

Enquire at the Bermagui Visitors Information Centre for information on the many national parks, activities, walking tracks, camping and picnic areas, lakes, unique flora and fauna and sites of Aboriginal cultural significance here and throughout the Sapphire Coast. The Sapphire Coast National Parks can provide plenty of opportunities for fun filled discovery. Majestic mountain ranges with grand views. A rugged coastline interspersed with long idyllic beaches.
