Heathlands and wildly twisted trees back many of the beaches of this part of the NSW coast and extend all the way to Victoria forming an important part of the eco-system. You will find many marked trails throughout the park, there is an abundance of wildlife and native flora to see.

You can also spot dolphins and penguins on the coast, and whales during their season, usually June, July and August. Even better is to watch them return with their calves to their feeding grounds in the Antartic via the Sapphire Coast, from September to November.

Hobart Beach

At Hobart Beach in Bournda National Park there is camping available near Wallagoot Lake. Canoeing, fishing and swimming are popular activities here as are swimming, picnicking and bushwalking.

Enquire at the Merimbula Visitors Information Centre about the many national parks, activities, things to do, camp sites and picnic areas, lakes, unique flora and fauna on the Sapphire Coast. Located at Beach St, Merimbula NSW 2548 Phone +061 2 6495 1129.
