At the Morton NP, bushwalking is one of the main attractions for visitors of the park. There are tall sandstone cliffs and animal life in the park includes wombats, possums, swamp wallabies, kangaroos and greater gliders. Pigeon House Mountain, found in the Southern part of the park has abundant birdlife.

There are plenty of signs of early Aboriginal habitation as well. With the numerous walks, excellent swimming, aboriginal heritage and abundant native flora and fauna, the Conjola National Park is an popular for families. At Huskisson, there are cruises available that explore the Jervis Bay Marine Park.

Booderee National Park, just south of Jervis Bay has the wonderful Booderee Botanical Gardens. The park itself is on the shores of St Georges Basin. You can explore white sand beaches that are protected by calm coves, good for swimming. The Budawang Wilderness Area, covering more than 76,000 hectares, has unusual rock formations and places to climb. There are other Shoalhaven National Parks and Reserves, each with their own charms.

Beach Safety

Due to this region being a relatively undeveloped part of the Australia NSW Coast, a number of beaches are not patrolled by lifesavers on a regular basis. Always check to see if they are and when. Unless your an experienced surfer or diver, it is always much safer to swim at patrolled beaches due to unexpected rips and undertows.
