Melbourne Landmark - Royal Exhibition BuildingThe Royal Exhibtion Building in Melbourne Australia has recently been named a World Heritage Site.The building, in traditional style for the 19th Century was placed in a large surrounding garden.

- The first building to fly the Australian flag
- The first Australian building to be World Heritage listed
The Carlton Gardens, as the surrounding garden was called, had been designed in a traditional ‘parterre’ style, where wheels, triangles, circles and other shapes are planted with flowers, trees and shrubs.
