The Pioneer Settlement Museum

The Pioneer Settlement Museum is a Swan Hill highlight. The museum is a re-created port town from the paddle-steamer era and boasts a fine collection of antiques and artefacts.

The best way to enjoy the museum’s experience is to travel in their horse and cart or tour in their old Dodge car, or aboard the 105-year-old paddle-steamer Pyap. Take your camera.

The main street recreates shops typical of early inland towns. The Kaiser Stereoscope Theatre, one of two remaining in the world, demonstrates an early yet advanced form of movie technology.

Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery

Another place worth seeing are the picturesque gardens at the Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery, situated on the Marraboor River. This gallery specialises in Australian natïve art and supports local and other Australian Aboriginal artists.

The permanent collection of The Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery features more than three hundred works of art, including original Australian aboriginal art and works on paper and canvas.
