Sydney Observatory
Captain Cook used astronomy to chart the north-east and east coast of Australia. Discover some of the wonderful and unique sights in the southern sky. Excellent historical displays and the original site of the windmill that features prominently in early Sydney paintings.

Goat Island National Park
You can tour Goat Island National Park on Sydney Harbour by booking with the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service at Cadmans Cottage, as well visit other islands, including Fort Denison. Phone 1300 361 967 or 02 9247 5033. Great views and a chance to explore Aboriginal, colonial and maritime history.
Darling Harbour
Darling Harbour is a Sydney center for entertainment and family day outs, with places to go, lots to see and do. There are hands on museums including the Powerhouse Museum and the Australian Maritime Museum, the Imax BIG Screen, the Sydney Aquarium and the Wildlife Center.

Balmain
Originally a working class suburb, Balmain today has fashion, food, gift and antique shops to explore. On Saturdays, there is a market at St Andrews Church. Darling St Ferry Wharf - Accessible by ferry from Circular Quay and Darling Harbour.
