Some 772 kms (480 mi) north of Sydney, the coastal town of Byron Bay is surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery found in New South Wales (NSW).
Situated in the Northern Rivers of NSW region, Byron Bay has nine great beaches to go and enjoy. Main Beach is where the surf club is situated.
The world’s first Solar Train is also found in Byron Bay. You can ride this train, powered by solar energy instead of the traditional steam or diesel.
Captain Cook discovered this bay in 1770 when charting the east coast of this continent, the local aborigines had known about it for a lot longer ago than that.
