Sandy beaches on the coast of Byron include Tallow Beach and Cosy Corner, Little Wategos, Wategos, The Pass, Clarkes, Byron, Belongil and Main Beach.
Arkawal National Park, situated to the east of Byron Bay backs Tallow Beach. When exploring this park, you can go for a refreshing swim at the beach. You can also watch for whales in their season, in the spring they travel back to Antartica from their breeding grounds with their calves.
Fishing and surfing are also popular here, as is going for picnics.
