This natural wonder is sacred to Aboriginals, instantly recognizable and one of the great iconic Australia Attractions. Surrounded by the Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park, there are others worth exploring, including Kata Tjuta, previously called the Olgas.
The traditional owners of this land ask that you treat Uluru and the surrounding National Park with the respect that it deserves.
Located some 463kms southwest of Alice Springs, there are numerous Alice Springs tours to the Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park available. There is also good choice of accommodation in Alice Springs, but also at the park itself.
This interactive map shows Uluru (previously referred to as Ayers Rock) in all its 3d interactive glory.
