Set on the Brisbane Water and its national park, Ettalong Beach is a relaxed but beautiful place to visit. Only just over an hour’s drive from the Sydney city center, there are beaches, fishing, golf and national parks to keep one busy but relaxed.
In the town itself, set on waterfront, there are cinemas, a good array of restaurant choices and some nice shopping opportunities.
There is a wide variety of restaurants and eateries along the waterfront. Mexican, Spanish, Balinese, Pizza and Pasta, Seafood and more cater to the many visitors to the area. You can find eleven of them at the Ettalong Beach Tourist Resort.
Brisbane Water
There are glorious and enthralling national parks near Ettalong, but the most close is Brisbane Water National Park and is easy to access from town. There are cruises available here that can take you to various parts of the park foreshores as well as a ferry service from Ettalong Wharf to Palm Beach, on the northern beaches of Sydney.
The park itself has great views of natural scenery, much of the surrounding area is still pristine, while the park itself has plenty of native wildlife and birdlife. The waterways are gorgeous.
Beside the many walks that take you to various points of interest, mountain biking, fishin and canoeing are popular ways to enjoy the park and surrounds. Picnic and BBQ spots are located in strategic and scenic places for your enjoyment.
Places to visit here are the many Aboriginal art sites that date back thousands of years. There are beaches, including the splendiferous Umina Beach, linked to Ettalong Beach by a cycle way and Pearl Beach, reachable via the Patonga walk, which follows the historic Great North Walk.

Other nearby parks include Wyrrabalong National Park, the Kincumba Mountain Reserve, Bouddi NP and Popran NP.

How to Get There from Sydney
The drive from Sydney to here is normally quick. Take the F3 expressway from North Sydney to Cowan. Take the Pacific Motorway to Somersby where you can get on the Central Coast Hwy to Woy Woy Road, till you get to Ocean View Road in Ettalong Beach (1 hr 12 mins approx).
