Jervis Bay, known for the sparkling white sands on its beaches and the beautiful National Parks of Boderee, Jervis Bay National Park and the Jervis Bay Marine Park, also has the Jervis Bay Maritime Museum.
Here, you can find historical vessels and boats, but also exhibitions related to Australia’s Maritime history as well as that of Jervis Bay. Science and the Sea is also featured, with one of the most important collections of scientific instruments in the Southern Hemisphere.
Until the invention of the chronometer sea exploration was dangerous, even more than it is now. Within the collection on display at the museum are the various instruments and other technological advancements that made sea exploration possible.
