There are more ways to tour Sydney than by bus but the hop on, hop off buses are a great way to start your sightseeing of this very scenic city.
One novel way to enjoy touring Sydney is with the Free Walking Tour and Bus Tour. Starting at the Archibald Fountain in Hyde Park (see Hyde Park Map). The walking tour takes you to some of the most historical places found in the Sydney city centre, while the bus tour takes you places further afield, including Mrs. Macquarie’s Point, Kings Cross, Vaucluse, and our world famous Bondi Beach.
Note: the tours rely on donation, so please do not be afraid to reward the friendly and hard working tour guides.
There are two major routes operated by the Hop-On, Hop-Off Tour people. You can book tickets or buy them on the bus from the driver, however, there is a discount on for online bookings.
The Sydney Tour takes you past all the major attractions and places to visit in Sydney city centre. You can also catch the red double decker bus at places along the way.
The Bondi Explorer Bus takes you all the way to Bondi, passing the many beautiful and photogenic bays of the eastern part of Sydney Harbour, as well as dramatic views of the ocean from the heights of the cliffs.
