Kids Fun Things to Do

There are tons of things to do for kids entertainment, fun and learning on the Gold Coast, in fact, finding time to do it all is far more difficult.

Nature and National Parks

Families with younger children can enjoy the 20 minute Lyre Bird Track here, for those keen to explore, the 8.8 kilometre walk to the top is more challenging. In the Nightcap Ranges National Park there is a 250 metre walk to the falls that is also for good for kids. Not far from Currumbin on the Gold Coast are the Currumbin Rock Pools, fun for kids, it has rock slides and pools of water to play in. Free Kids Activities

Free things to do on the Gold Coast include art galleries, museums and exhibitions including the Yugambeh Museum in Beenleigh, where you can learn and experience Aboriginal culture. In the evening the Springbrook Observatory provides inspirational shows about space, the planets, stars and galaxies, free for kids.

Oceanway

Oceanway - This walk, being completed in stages has some 36 kilometre of pathway that runs along the ocean on the Gold Coast. Running from the north at Southport Seaway (The Spit) to the New South Wales border in the south, it has been specially designed for easy access and a flat surface. You can get to various beaches from the path and there are picnic areas and drinking fountains along the way. The Tallebudgera Duneway section takes you through the Burleigh Heads National Park, providing spectacular views.

Australian Outback Spectacular offers dinner shows with spectacular stunt riders, talented horses and animals found on the range do what they do with outback music, drama and action.

• Currumbin Sanctuary
• Fleays Wildlife Park - Managed and run by the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, you can view an amazing array of indigenous animals, including rare ones, in their habitat.
• Paradise Country - Farm Life in Australia, as well as native animals. Tours, horse shows, gold fever and more - great for the kids.
