Apollo Bay was named after the Schooner The Apollo in 1898. The area was settled originally by wood cutters fifty years before, before that, whalers and sealers would hunt in the bay.
Along the Great Ocean Road you can find budget to luxury places to stay: resorts and hotels to beach cabins, caravan sites and motels.
