Jervis Bay NSW Tourist Information

Jervis Bay is located south of Sydney and just north of St Georges Basin. Almost surrounded by National Parks and Reserves, including the Jervis Bay National Park, the area has remained natural.

The Jervis Bay Marine Park offers excellent diving, in other parts of the bay you can fish, sail, boat and go snorkelling to your hearts content.

The Jervis Bay National Park has a rich Aboriginal Heritage. The park protects the wetlands, inhabited with abundant native flora, birds and animals.

There are stunning beaches on the bay, including Hyams and Callala. Many are protected from the surf which make it good for families. Vincentia and Sanctuary Point beaches have excellent wind surfing.

Jervis Bay Cruises

Dolphins frolic here, there are some excellent Jervis Bay Cruises for spotting seals and dolphins and exploring the Marine Park. They also offer whale cruises in season.

Attractions to the area include the many bushwalking trails along the bay and in the parks and reserves. Booderee, an Aboriginal name derived from the local Dhurga language, means bay of plenty or plenty of fish and is now a national park between the South part of the bay and the Tasman Sea. There are walking trails to explore, surf beaches, great fishing, good camping facilities and plenty of opportunities for boating, sailing, snorkelling and diving.

The crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches that sparkle in the sunlight make for a wonderful holiday destination. With the variety of accommodation available at Jervis Bay, it makes for a great getaway holiday from Sydney.
