Points of Interest

Long having a history as a popular tourist destination since the completion of the railway line from Sydney in the late 1800s, guesthouses, resorts, B&Bs and hotels have been dotting the mountains, yet the pristine nature of the Blue Mountains National Park retains millions of gum trees, colourful birdlife, koalas, kangaroos and wallabies.

Other Blue Mountains points of interest include Blackheath, Wentworth Falls, Mount Victoria and the Zig Zag Railway, built to handle the steep inclines in the late 1800s. There are wonderful gardens to be found at Mt. Tomah.

Blue Mountains Tours and Day Trips

Because of the proximity of the Blue Mountains to Sydney, there are all kinds of activities, tours and day trips available. Aboriginal Experiences and activitities exploring indigenous arts, foods and lifestyle can be found here, so can horse riding, absailing and mountain climbing.
