Glenelg Beach, Adelaide

Take the Tram, stops on the Blue Dots on the Glenelg Tram.

Glenelg Beach, located a short tram ride to the coast, has attracted Adelaidians and visitors for many years. The broad beach of soft white sands and calm waters make for a great day out.

Location

Only twelve kilometres from the city centre of Adelaide, it actually occupies where the first settlers to South Australia first came. There is a monument to these enterprising souls on the beachfront.

Shopping

Glenelg has developed into a large shopping complex, with everything from florists to pharmacies, clothing, footwear, beachwear, you can find it here. Harbour Town is not far from here as well, on Tapleys Hill Rd, West Beach.

The Beachouse

Great for kids of all ages and the family, the Beachhouse on the beachfront of Glenelg is complete with a carousel, dodgem cars, mini golf, waterslides and more. Bumper Boats and a ferris wheel complete the picture. Phone: 08 8295 1511.
