Dandelion Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

Pride of the Fleurieu Peninsula

Intense Deep Purple with bright edges holds great promise. Scented blueberries and hints of blackcurrants over fruitcake like ripe redolent red fruits and spicy cedar, blackberries and cream.

Rich, deep, full-flavoured, blueberry, plums and red berry flavours. Cedar spice and classic Cabernet tannin softened by smooth mouth-filling fruit before a really extended finish.

May be cellared for up to 5 to 10 years. www.dandelionvineyards.com.au.

Barossa Valley Cr Shiraz 2008

Intense deep red purple with fragrant chocolate, blackberry and smoky oak. Plush creamy palate of black dark fruit, molasses and chocolate with a toasty cedar spice finish. Syrah grape, now referred to in Australia as Shiraz. Aged in American Oak, giving it the hint of vanilla.

Drinkable now, may be cellared for up to 5 years. gratefulpalateimports.com.

IMPORTS

Arrogant Frog

Croak Rotie (Shiraz)

This French Import comes from the Languedoc region. An elegant Shiraz with some Voignier (9%), it is a tasty reminder of its Mediterranean roots but with a New World brashness it has a robust flavour with rich, soft and ripe fruits.

May be cellared for up to 3 years. www.arrogantfrog.fr.

Rocca Ventosa Pinot Grigio

This one has fresh pear fruit and has nice clean minerality, with everything in its right place. Italy has great experience with this grape and it is no surprise that this is far better than any Australian version we have tried for such a low price.
