Darling Harbour Hotels

Staying in Darling Harbour accommodation has lots to offer the visitor. These Sydney Australia hotels are close to the many Darling Harbour attractions and for the business visitor, the Sydney Convention Centre and the Sydney Exhibition Centre.

At night, Darling Harbour has an excellent range of restaurants, bars and entertainment. See more about Darling Harbour Attractions, Restaurants and Shopping.

Getting around Sydney

Getting around the rest of the city CBD is easy from Darling Harbour, with monorail, light rail, numerous buses, taxis and of course, Sydney ferries.

Australian Maritime Museum

From its very beginning, Australia has strong maritime links. At the Darling Harbour Australian Maritime Museum, you can clamber over the HMAS Vampire, see the Australia II and other boats related to Australia’s history. There are sailing lessons available and on weekends, Sydney harbour cruises on some of the historic boats.

Getting to Darling Harbour

One of the most interesting ways of getting to Darling Harbour is to take a ferry from Circular Quay, offering some grand views of Sydney Harbour. There is a light rail service from Central Railway Station and you can take a monorail from the Sydney CBD (Central Business District). See more about Sydney Public Transport, Car Rentals.

Another way to get to Darling Harbour is walk along Market Street from Hyde Park, where you will pass through one of the more interesting parts of the city, with some great chances for shopping along the way. The street goes all the way down to Pyrmont Bridge and to the rest of the harbour.

City Shopping Areas

The Rocks, the walkway to the Sydney Opera House and Darling Harbour are all good places for shopping, but Pitt Street Mall is a good place to start, with shopping arcades, department stores, brand name retailers, jewellery, accessory shops and speciality stores within a short walk of each other. All the name brands are here or on the main streets nearby. See more about Shopping in Sydney.
