Long Reef Beach

The beach at Long Reef is not as popular to visitors as the other main beaches along the North Shore of Sydney. However, there are plenty of facilities availabe there, including Showers, Public toilets and the Viewing Platform. Not only that, but there is a a Picnic Area and a Kiosk.

Popular activities here include body boarding and surfing. With the prevailing winds you can also get good opportunities for windsurfing.

Note: There is no Surf Life Saving Club located there, so it is not recommended for young families and swimmers who are not familiar with Australian beach conditions (rips, currents, stormy conditions, etc).

Scenic Walk

There is a scenic walk from the Long Reef Headland, past the Dee Why Lagoon to Dee Why Beach. At the lagoon, there is the Dee Why Lagoon Wildlife Refuge and a boardwalk, making it easy to enjoy the atmosphere.

There is however, a long walk along the beach so it making it impossible for wheelchair access.

With a bit of luck, you may even spot whales and/or dolphins swimming past in the ocean.

All day Pay parking is available there.

Long Reef Golf Course

Regarded by some as the best location for a Sydney golf club, with stupendous views of the ocean and surrounds. Players will find the course has plenty of challenges, while the fresh ocean breeze and salt in the air make up for it and even more enjoyable.

Situated between Collaroy Beach and Dee Why on the Long Reef headland, you can even have a great meal there with the enjoyable ambience of the golf course, fresh ocean air and the beach views. Open for breakfast and lunch, as well as dinner on Fridays.
