Melbourne Federation Square

A meeting place - Built to house the arts and host key events for the City of Melbourne. Controversial in design, it continues to be used as a gathering place. The Sydney Opera House was also very controversial, as were the Pyramids and the Taj Mahal. So its all good.

Here you can find the National Gallery of Victoria’s Australian Arts Collection, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image and the Australian Racing Museum.

There are also some great restaurants, bars and eating places, allowing you to take in the views and the atmosphere.

Located next to the Yarra River, Flinders Street Station, St Pauls Cathedral, Princes Bridge and between Swanston Street and St Kilda Road, it will always have a reason for being and will play an important role in the history of Melbourne. Despite the ongoing media kerfuffle.
